Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking a Material Engineer to provide visibility, traceability and reporting of material status across VCAP and sites, ensuring right materials are available when needed to support safe project delivery.

The role collaborates with discipline teams, procurement and logistics to maintain material readiness, conduct inspections, and produce regular KPI reports on material location and status throughout the end-to-end process.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications, a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Strong administrative, quality and asset management skills are necessary to coordinate material management and strengthen the end-to-end material process flow.
• Practical experience in material and asset management is highly valued, especially within supply chain and material management at large scale (nuclear or energy preferred).
• Industry-specific certifications (e.g., IAM CAM/DAM) can enhance credibility.

Responsibilities

• Carry positive HS&E outlook and promote a compliant HS&E culture across the project lifecycle.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to understand material requirements and coordinate readiness.
• Liaise with procurement, logistics, fabrication and construction to align material availability with schedules.
• Act as the principal point for all material matters within areas and verify received materials meet requirements.
• Conduct material traceability actions to meet project requirements.
• Inspect materials, storage locations and work areas for condition and availability.
• Collaborate to investigate material-related issues and communicate readiness state.
• Produce regular reports on material status, location and readiness to support planning.
• Update material status from delivery to installation to report location accurately.
• Drive improvements in material handling and storage to boost project performance.
• Understand Construction M&E material disciplines and related handling/storage requirements.
