Job summary

A Master Scheduler role with a leading UK manufacturer is available to join our expanding team. You will develop and maintain production plans and schedules to ensure customer deadlines are met and monitor stock levels to prevent bottlenecks.

Applicants should have production planning experience within a complex manufacturing environment, plus ERP/MRP experience and advanced Excel skills. Strong time management, organisation and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines are

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand, inventory, and capacity.
  • Translate customer orders, forecasts, and programme requirements into achievable production schedules.
  • Balance customer demand against available manufacturing capacity, labour, tooling, materials, and equipment.
  • Establish production priorities based on customer requirements, contractual commitments, inventory position, and operational constraints.
  • Maintain schedule integrity within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Identify potential capacity constraints and develop recovery or mitigation plans.
  • Regularly review and re-sequence the schedule in response to changes in demand, material availability, machine capacity, quality issues, and operational performance.

Job description

A leading manufacturer with ambitious expansion plans has a new opportunity for a Master Scheduler to join the team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining production plans and schedules to ensure customer deadlines are met and monitoring stock levels to prevent bottlenecks. Applicants are sought with previous planning experience gained within a complex manufacturing environment.

The Role
  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, inventory levels & capacity.
  • Translate customer orders, forecasts, and programme requirements into achievable production schedules.
  • Balance customer demand against available manufacturing capacity, labour, tooling, materials, and equipment.
  • Establish production priorities based on customer requirements, contractual commitments, inventory position, and operational constraints.
  • Maintain schedule integrity within the ERP/MRP system.

The Person
  • Experience in a production planning role within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • ERP/MRP experience.
  • Methodical, detail orientated with good time management.
  • Advanced Excel skills with a good understanding of MS office functions.
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience of managing a demanding workload in accordance with tight deadlines
