Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced Master Production Scheduler to own the production schedule across manufacturing facilities. Qualifications

  • Experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Experience with capacity planning, resource requirements and performance metrics.
  • Understanding of S&OP, MRP/ERP or Advanced Planning & Scheduling.
  • A strong continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and optimise the Master Production Schedule for assigned facilities.
  • Ensure production plans support the customer order book, inventory requirements and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) targets.
  • Prepare and communicate weekly production schedules to Production Management, subcontract partners and Senior Management.
  • Lead daily production meetings and communicate priorities, constraints, risks and schedule changes.
  • Provide labour resource plans and work with Production Management to achieve effective load levelling.
  • Monitor performance against plan and proactively manage delays and rescheduling requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Master Production Scheduler to take full ownership of the production schedule across our manufacturing facilities.

You will play a key role in ensuring production is planned efficiently, customer commitments are met, supply chain risks are managed proactively, and opportunities for continuous improvement are identified and delivered.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Finance and senior management, you will balance customer demand, capacity, resources and operational priorities to deliver an effective, data-driven planning process.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Create, maintain and optimise the Master Production Schedule for assigned facilities.
  • Ensure production plans support the customer order book, inventory requirements and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) targets.
  • Prepare and communicate weekly production schedules to Production Management, subcontract partners and Senior Management.
  • Lead daily production meetings and communicate priorities, constraints, risks and schedule changes.
  • Provide labour resource plans and work with Production Management to achieve effective load levelling.
  • Monitor performance against plan and proactively manage delays and rescheduling requirements.
Stakeholder & Supply Chain Management
  • Act as a key liaison between Production and Fabrications, Engineering, Finance, Business Support, Sales and Procurement.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Identify and communicate material and supply chain risks, recommending practical recovery solutions where required.
  • Facilitate weekly cross-functional reviews to assess performance, agree priorities and manage rescheduling.
Data & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop capacity What If scenarios to identify constraints, capacity gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Produce and maintain Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) KPIs, providing analysis and insights to support data-driven decisions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve planning and operational performance.
  • Champion process and system improvements using Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Support the development of predictive scheduling and planning capabilities.
Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's Business Management System within your area of responsibility.
About You
  • Experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with capacity planning, resource requirements and performance metrics.
  • An understanding of S&OP, MRP/ERP or Advanced Planning & Scheduling.

Working Hours

Total: 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 07:30-09:00 and 16:15-17:45

Friday: 07:30-08:30 and 12:00-13:00
