Job summary

MNB Precision in Coventry is seeking an experienced Master Production Scheduler to own the master production schedule across a low-volume precision engineering environment. You will ensure production capacity, materials, and resources align with on-time delivery while coordinating with production, engineering and quality teams.

The role requires strong planning, analysis, and communication skills, with a proven background in lean improvement and ERP/MRP systems (ideally Seiki Systems or Factory

Qualifications

  • You will be an experienced Production Planner, Master Scheduler or similar, within a precision machining environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, machine loading, material requirements and production lead times.
  • Experience using an ERP/MRP system to manage production schedules, ideally Seiki Systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Sales and senior management.
  • A strong understanding of Lean and continuous improvement principles, with a focus on improving flow, reducing waste and increasing schedule adherence.
  • Experience within Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Defence, Rail or another precision engineering environment.
  • You will be comfortable working with data and KPIs, using information to make informed planning and scheduling decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule, balancing demand, capacity, materials and priorities.
  • Develop realistic and achievable production schedules across the business, considering capacity, labour, tooling, materials and lead times.
  • Translate customer requirements and sales demand into clear production plans and communicate priorities.
  • Work with Production and Engineering Managers to optimise loading, capacity utilisation and flow.
  • Monitor progress against the master schedule and implement recovery plans for delivery risks.
  • Manage and communicate schedule changes due to urgent orders, engineering changes, downtime or material constraints.
  • Coordinate subcontract and external processing to align with the schedule.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve lead times and on-time delivery.
  • Provide updates on production status, risks, constraints and schedule performance to management.

We are currently looking for an experienced Master Production Scheduler to join the team and take ownership of the master production schedule, ensuring manufacturing capacity, customer requirements, materials and resources are effectively planned and aligned to achieve on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities For The Master Production Scheduler
  • Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule, ensuring customer demand, production capacity, material availability and operational priorities are effectively managed.
  • Develop realistic and achievable production schedules across the business, taking account of machine capacity, labour availability, tooling, materials, subcontract operations and manufacturing lead times.
  • Translate customer requirements and sales demand into clear production plans, ensuring priorities are understood and communicated across production, engineering, purchasing and quality.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and Engineering Manager to optimise machine loading, capacity utilisation and production flow across a low-volume precision engineering environment.
  • Monitor production progress against the master schedule, identifying risks to customer delivery at an early stage and implementing appropriate recovery plans.
  • Manage and communicate changes to the production schedule, ensuring urgent customer requirements, engineering changes, machine downtime and material constraints are reflected quickly and effectively.
  • Use ERP/MRP such as Factory Master and Seiki Systems to maintain accurate planning data, production orders, lead times, routings and scheduling information.
  • Coordinate subcontract and external processing requirements, ensuring work is planned and returned in line with the overall production schedule.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve manufacturing lead times, increase capacity utilisation and improve on-time delivery.
  • Provide clear and regular updates on production status, delivery risks, capacity constraints and schedule performance to the management team.
Essential Requirements For The Master Production Scheduler
  • You will be an experienced Production Planner, Master Scheduler or similar, within a precision machining environment.
