Job summary

Reactive Driving Recruitment seeks an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join the manufacturing team in Alridge. You will set and operate HAAS CNC machines, prepare tooling and parameters for production runs, and ensure parts meet drawings and specifications with precision.

Programming experience is advantageous but not essential; you will read drawings, use precision measuring tools, and collaborate with Production and Quality to resolve issues. Day shifts, full-time position, £14.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers).
• Health and safety awareness in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with CNC programming, CAD/CAM, GD&T and Fanuc controls would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate HAAS CNC machines for production.
• Set up tooling, fixtures and machine parameters for production runs.
• Carry out machine adjustments and offsets as required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Check components meet dimensions and tolerances during setup and production.
• Use vernier/digital calipers and micrometers for inspections.
• Perform first-off and ongoing dimensional checks.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining or tooling issues.
• Monitor tooling condition and adjust as needed.
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance and machine checks.
• Ensure produced components meet quality standards.
• Record production and inspection data as required.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality to resolve issues.
