Job summary

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust is seeking a dedicated MASH Officer for a 12-month maternity cover, 18.5 hours per week, based at Brackmills, Northampton with hybrid options depending on rota and business needs. The role sits within the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub and works with health, education, police and social care partners to identify and support safeguarding concerns for children and families.

You will handle referrals, gather multi-source information, and provide timely guidance

Qualifications

• Strong communication with professionals, partner agencies and public.
• Good understanding of safeguarding legislation and boundaries.
• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Ability to collect, interpret and analyse complex information objectively.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding enquiries by phone and written referrals.
• Gather and analyse information from multiple sources to build a risk picture.
• Provide clear, professional advice and signposting to referrers.
• Escalate urgent safeguarding concerns to decision makers as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with data protection.
• Provide progress updates to partner agencies on cases.
