Think Recruitment is seeking a Markets Operative to support outdoor market operations across sites in Walsall. You will set up and dismantle stalls, move bins, litter-pick, and maintain clean market environments.

The role requires outdoor work in all weather, early starts, and a proactive, customer‑facing approach with market traders and the public. Commitment to safety, ability to work as part of a small team, and a valid UK driving licence with own vehicle for travel between markets are

Qualifications

• Experience in manual or physical work.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle for travel between market sites.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and dismantle market stalls.
• Move and position bins across market sites.
• Carry out litter picking and maintain clean market environments.
• Clean stalls, bins, compounds and communal areas.
• Support upkeep and general maintenance of market infrastructure.
• Carry out basic weeding and general site maintenance.
• Spread grit and rock salt during icy weather.
• Assist with smooth operation of market activities.
• Engage professionally with traders and the public.
• Report issues to the Team Leader and Market Operational Manager.
• Work safely in all weather conditions.
• Use basic hand tools and equipment as required.
