Job summary

Sonos in Glasgow is seeking a Software Engineer for Marketing Technology (IC2) to build the web integrations, consent handling, event tracking, and data pipelines that enable personalised, data-informed customer experiences.

The role combines remote work with in-office collaboration, requiring presence three days a week in the Glasgow office and close partnership with Web Platform and product teams. You will work with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, SQL, and tools like Braze and OneTrust.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL.
• Experience with React or a comparable web framework and understanding of browser/server interactions.
• Experience building or troubleshooting REST API integrations and using Git and automated tests.
• Familiarity with browser events, cookies, consent states, and accurate customer data.
• Able to work from the Glasgow office 3 days per week.
• Nice-to-have: Next.js, marketing tech tools (Braze/OneTrust) and data tooling (Snowflake/dbt).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain marketing scripts and SDKs, including consent checks and responses to consent changes.
• Make targeted JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js changes for consent collection and event tracking.
• Instrument page views, forms, and customer interactions; validate event schemas and troubleshoot issues.
• Build and support integrations between the website and services using APIs, webhooks, and patterns.
• Develop SQL and dbt models to turn data into reliable datasets for engagement and personalisation.
• Support reverse ETL pipelines delivering data to downstream tools like Braze.
• Test consent behaviour, browser compatibility, data accuracy, and performance of integrations.
• Participate in code review, documentation, testing, deployment, and production troubleshooting.
