Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and strategically driven Marketing Manager to lead the Institute’s marketing and communications efforts. This role is crucial to our continued growth and impact, helping us reach a global audience of talented students and educators.

This role will oversee the launch and management of Locke Magazine and the Undebating Competition, and other initiatives in varying stages of progress. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem solver with strong project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the Institute's Global Essay Prize Competition and Summer School Offerings Internationally, and other programmes across a variety of platforms.
  • Create the John Locke Institute brand foundations from the ground up.
  • Manage and grow our online presence (social media, email marketing, website).
  • Oversee content creation—including graphics, social media posts, videos, emails, and newsletters.
  • Contribute to the Institute’s overall strategic planning and brand development.
  • Collaborate across departments—academics, events, operations, admissions, and community—in content creation for various platforms.
  • Design and execute advertising campaigns, including paid digital media.
  • Monitor analytics and campaign performance, providing regular reports.
  • Manage relationships with media partners and infiluencers.
  • Optimise campaigns and content in real-time based on market feedback for all campaigns on all platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in brand marketing and campaign creation, including the establishment of brand foundations and differentiated positioning, with the ability to demonstrate value through data-driven ROI measurement.
  • Experience and mastery of social marketing, digital platforms, and content creation.
  • Proficiency and fluidity with digital marketing tools (e.g., Meta Ads, Google Ads, Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience bringing integrated campaigns to market across multiple platforms.
  • Experience managing agency relationships, creative teams, content creators, and graphic designers.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • A passion for education and intellectual development is a plus.
