About the role
Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a great opportunity for a Marketing Manager role to join our vibrant Sales and Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing customer and data-led strategic marketing plans based around the customer and underlying customer segments, all localised to markets as appropriate for this portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote brand awareness and drive business growth.
- Plan and oversee marketing campaigns across digital, print, and event channels.
- Conduct market research to identify customer trends, competitor strategies, and opportunities.
- Manage the marketing budget and ensure cost-effective marketing solutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (sales, product, communications) to align marketing efforts.
- Analyze campaign performance and prepare reports to measure ROI and effectiveness.
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including content, graphics, and advertisements.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, partners, and media.
- Maintain brand consistency across all channels and materials.
- Monitor and adapt to market trends and industry developments.
- Digital marketing experience, specifically in paid channels.
- Demonstrable strategic marketing campaigns that were data-led and achieved targets.
- Knowledge and deep understanding of the academic space.
- Relevant professional qualification together with evidence of commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
- Demonstrable experience of successfully managing and developing teams and promoting a culture of high performance.
- Extensive experience in resource and budget planning, including managing and optimising large budgets.
- Ability to translate customer data and insights to create customer-focused strategic marketing plans, driving business-focused results.
- Experience of working within an international marketing team to deliver coordinated global activity, localized to the needs of the market.
- Experience in engaging with customers internationally to develop relationships and inform marketing strategies to meet the needs of the customer.
- Demonstrable experience of successful delivery of marketing campaigns for a publishing and/or membership organisation.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in marketing or equivalent relevant experience.

Working locations
