The Role

The Business Marketing function sits within the Corporate Affairs and Marketing organisation within LSEG. This organisation, led by our Chief Corporate Affairs and Marketing Officer, acts as a strategic partner to the business, powering commercial value through an insight led approach that maximises the impact of our investment and our relevance in the market.

The Business Marketing team oversees marketing strategy, content and global activation and ensures all marketing activities are directly aligned to D&A's business priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

Marketing Strategy:

  • Responsible for developing the marketing strategy for our Data & Feeds business and the product sets within, aligning to key business priorities.
  • Lead the team responsible for developing the marketing plans across the product sets, and that these ladder up to an overarching strategic plan for Data and Feeds.
  • Build proposition messaging and positioning across Data & Feeds business to ensure clear differentiators and customer-centric narrative.
  • Define target audiences globally based on insights and analytics and on proposition strategy.
  • Identify campaign themes and thought leadership opportunities that support business priorities.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Data and Feeds business to ensure marketing is aligned with and supportive of business agenda, growth priorities and our product launch process.
  • Outline the content strategy aligned to key customer needs and themes within the market and partner ecosystem.
  • Define the marketing objectives including growth and retention targets, plus product launches within marketing plans.
  • Provide expertise and support on the LSEG Microsoft Partnership marketing plan, ensuring D&F is effectively represented and aligned.
  • Propose marketing campaigns that will retain and grow customer base - driving leads, opportunities and sales - and position us as innovative in the market, measured e.g. by brand/customer surveys.
  • Work across all of the other Marketing functions including Brand, Digital and Field Marketing to ensure the production of compelling campaigns, content and activation of campaigns in markets globally.
In addition:
  • Infuse the LSEG brand into everything we do. Ensure brand activation is clearly integrated into message strategy and architecture, product design, value proposition and personas for core customer segments.
  • KPIs: Define the expectation of how marketing will drive results. Partner closely with the Insight and Analytics team to set clear standards and reporting of Marketing ROI aligned to business goals. Assess performance quarterly against targets. Course correct based on learning as necessary.
  • Be a strong and effective communicator, collaborator and leader. This person will need to be able to work across the breadth of our business and quickly understand what requirements are and how we mobilize teams to act.
Skills and experience
  • Significant experience of strategic product or solution marketing closely aligned to a large growth business.
  • Strategic marketing experience or experience having worked across business and product teams to articulate compelling value propositions to customers and prospects.
  • Understanding of financial markets and data sets used by middle and back office teams.
  • Experience working across globally dispersed teams to drive towards a common goal.
