Tynedale Hospice at Home in Hexham is seeking a Marketing & Communications Officer to help bring our new 10-year brand and strategy to life. You will produce content, run channels and support campaigns that raise our profile and engage supporters day in, day out.

Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, you’ll translate brand guidelines into social posts, newsletters, website updates and event materials, while balancing creative production with data-driven improvements in a hands-on,

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in marketing, communications or digital content roles.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, supporter-focused copy.
  • Practical experience with social media, email platforms and website CMS.
  • Basic graphic or video editing skills (Canva or similar).
  • Comfortable using analytics tools and data to improve content performance.
  • Well organised, with great attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Be part of a defining chapter for the Hospice, as we roll out a new brand and 10-year strategy.
  • Hands-on variety - no two days the same, with real ownership of the channels you run.
  • Close support and mentoring from our Marketing & Communications Manager, plus room to grow your skills.
  • Flexible, collaborative working in a small, friendly team.
  • Meaningful, direct impact on patients and families across our community.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting delivery of our marketing & communications plans and fundraising campaigns across digital, print and community channels.
  • Producing engaging content: social posts, email copy, website updates, case studies, newsletters, basic graphics and short videos.
  • Managing day-to-day social media channels - scheduling posts, monitoring engagement and responding to enquiries.
  • Editing website content, keeping it accurate and SEO-friendly.
  • Supporting email marketing, from list segmentation and campaign set-up to A/B testing and reporting.
  • Helping maintain our brand guidelines, tone of voice and templates as we roll out our new brand.
  • Helping plan and deliver events, community outreach and supporter-facing materials.

Job title: Marketing & Communications Officer

Location: Hexham - our office is your base, with some hybrid working by agreement.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with some evening and weekend working

Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager

Salary £28,000 per annum

Join us as Marketing & Communications Officer at a defining moment for Tynedale Hospice at home. We’re at the start of a new 10-year strategy, with brand development at its heart, and you’ll play a hands-on role in bringing that story to life - producing the content, running the channels and supporting the campaigns that raise our profile and drive vital supporter engagement, day in, day out.

This is a varied, hands-on role, perfect for someone who loves turning ideas into content and details into consistency. Working closely with our Marketing & Communications Manager, you’ll help translate our new brand and strategy into everything we do - from social posts and newsletters to website updates and event materials - and see the direct results of your work in the people and services we’re able to support.
