Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Communications & Marketing Manager to lead digital marketing, branding and communications across its iconic City Halls portfolio. This role focuses on shaping audience engagement, driving commercial growth, and strengthening the venues' profiles in Liverpool and beyond.

The post requires creativity, strategic thinking and strong leadership to manage campaigns, content creation and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in communications and marketing.
• Experience leading digital marketing campaigns and branding.
• Ability to create engaging content and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Previous line management or team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of digital marketing campaigns across websites, social media, email and online platforms.
• Line manage the Marketing & Communications Officer.
• Create engaging content, photography and video to promote events, venue hire, ticket sales and heritage activity.
• Manage and develop the City Halls brand, ensuring consistency across all marketing, communications and venue materials.
• Drive audience growth and commercial performance through insight-led marketing and effective campaign management.
• Maintain and enhance website content to maximise engagement, enquiries and sales opportunities.
• Use analytics and performance data to evaluate campaigns and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop marketing plans that support venue hire, events, fundraising campaigns and strategic partnerships.
• Produce high-quality written content including articles, blogs, news releases and social media copy.
• Support internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement and organisational campaigns.
• Build strong relationships with partners, cultural organisations and commercial stakeholders to increase reach and impact.
• Champion innovative marketing approaches and sector best practice across the City Halls portfolio.
