Job description

Join our dynamic Marketing team at Avanti West Coast, where we drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction through innovative marketing programmes. Our team is dedicated to generating and converting customer demand, fostering loyalty, and providing timely, relevant information to our customers. We lead initiatives such as advertising campaigns, digital marketing activities, loyalty programmes, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and planned customer communications.

Additionally, we offer brand and design services leadership and support across the business. The Marketing Communications team, a vital part of our Marketing function, spearheads all marketing campaigns to boost the market and demand for rail travel with Avanti West Coast.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with Marketing Projects: Write agency briefs, brief internal teams, and manage external agencies.
  • Lead Independent Projects: Oversee specific projects in Corporate Sales, Groups, Safety, Food and Beverage, and product/proposition areas.
  • Support Planning and Budgeting: Help plan projects, develop timelines, maintain activity calendars, and manage budgets.
  • Create Marketing Content: Develop copy and creative content, ensuring cross-channel integration.
  • Monitor Competitor Activity: Track competitor marketing efforts and assist with point-of-sale activations.

Who We're Looking For

  • Marketing Knowledge: In-depth understanding of key marketing principles and channels, including digital marketing, online advertising, and content advertising.
  • Creative Skills: Possess a creative flair and good judgement of creative work, with a solid grasp of the creative and production process.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all marketing activities.
  • Organisational and Motivational Skills: Excellent organisational skills, coupled with enthusiasm and self-motivation to drive projects forward.
  • Negotiation and Experience: Effective negotiation skills and demonstrable experience in the marketing communications space.
