Job summary

St Catherine’s is seeking an Events & Marketing Assistant to support planning, delivery and evaluation of the school's events programme. You will help with admissions activities, visitor engagement and producing marketing materials, while providing admin support to the Marketing team.

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive communicator who can manage multiple priorities, attend occasional evenings and weekends, and build positive relationships with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organisation and delivery of School events throughout the year.
  • Coordinate event logistics including catering, venue, signage, equipment and visitor information.
  • Prepare event documentation, schedules, guest lists and briefing materials.
  • Liaise with staff, suppliers and external partners to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support recruitment and organisation of staff and student ambassadors.
  • Welcome visitors and prospective families as a professional School ambassador.
  • Attend and support School events, including evenings and weekends.
  • Gather attendance data and feedback for post-event evaluation.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys event management, stakeholder engagement and delivering exceptional visitor experiences, while also gaining valuable experience across a broad range of marketing and communications activities.

The Role

Working under the direction of the Director of Marketing, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, organisation and delivery of the School's extensive events programme. From Open Mornings and Admissions events to alumnae gatherings and taster days, you will help ensure every event runs smoothly and professionally.

Alongside event coordination, you will provide administrative support to the Marketing team and assist with a variety of communications and marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities
Events Planning and Delivery
  • Assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of School events throughout the year.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including catering, venue preparation, signage, equipment, parking and visitor information.
  • Prepare event documentation, schedules, presentations, guest lists, visitor packs and briefing materials.
  • Liaise with staff, suppliers and external partners to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Support the recruitment and organisation of staff and student ambassadors.
  • Welcome visitors and prospective families, acting as a professional ambassador for the School.
  • Attend and support School events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Gather attendance data and feedback to support post-event evaluation and continuous improvement.
Admissions and Visitor Engagement
  • Provide practical support for admissions activities and prospective parent events.
  • Ensure all visitors receive a welcoming, professional and positive experience.
  • Respond to event-related enquiries and assist with admissions communications and materials.
Marketing and Communications
  • Assist with the production and distribution of marketing materials and publications.
  • Support the collection of stories, photographs and content from across the School community.
  • Proofread marketing communications and event materials.
  • Help maintain consistency across all printed and digital communications.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain event records, databases and filing systems.
  • Manage stocks of promotional materials, visitor packs and event resources.
  • Assist with purchase orders, invoices and budget administration.
  • Prepare meeting papers, reports and presentation materials.
  • Provide general administrative support across the Marketing department.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience working within a school, education or customer-facing environment.
  • Event management experience.
  • Experience supporting admissions, hospitality or visitor engagement activities.
  • Photography, videography or basic video editing skills.
  • Experience using databases, booking systems or content management systems.
  • A marketing qualification, relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
Remuneration
  • Salary: £30,000 FTE (pro rata according to contracted hours)
  • Working Pattern: 3-4 days per week (0.6-0.8 FTE), with exact working pattern to be agreed
  • Contract: Fixed-term for two years, year-round position
