Job summary

Morningstar, Inc. in London is seeking an Operations Engineer on a 12 month fixed-term contract to monitor and support the Market Data application stack and infrastructure across London and Mumbai.

You will deploy software changes, improve monitoring, and contribute to cloud migration initiatives, becoming a trusted operational partner to development teams. The role operates in a hybrid environment with 40 hours per week, participation in shift rotations, and early involvement in shaping tooling

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Technical Operations, Production Support or SRE-like role.
• Experience with Windows Server and Wintel infrastructure.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols.
• Scripting/automation in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g. Splunk, New Relic).
• Exposure to CI/CD, deployment tooling (GitHub, Terraform, Kubernetes, Harness).
• Experience with cloud-hosted services, preferably AWS or hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line operational support across London and Mumbai.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.
• Deploy, configure, and validate software changes to the Market Data stack.
• Respond to operational requests with timely follow-through.
• Create and maintain operational documentation.
• Participate in shift rotations and operational activities.
