Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Maritime Anti-Ship / Deep Strike Mission Planning team. The role involves systems engineering across the lifecycle, from requirements elicitation to testing and delivery, with close collaboration with software and algorithm teams and engagement with end users.

The role sits within MBDA UK's Mission Planning & Control function, offering hybrid working and opportunities to grow capabilities on a key defence programme in the Maritime domain.

Qualifications

• Proactive contribution to milestone delivery within MBSE
• Experience in systems engineering and maritime environments is desirable
• Ability to communicate across cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Deliver within the Maritime Anti-Ship / Deep Strike Mission Planning product
• Support the product owner to create the Maritime variant
• Contribute to lifecycle activities from requirements elicitation to testing and delivery
• Produce engineering artefacts and participate in design reviews
• Develop design within the systems architecture model
• Collaborate with software and algorithm teams across the programme
• Engage with end users and customers where possible
• Contribute to a strategic defence programme and grow capabilities

Job description

Salary: £46,000-£57,000 depending on experience Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity

An opportunity to join the team delivering MBDAs future anti-ship / deep strike capability integrated in the Maritime domain. This is working as part of the wider Mission Planning & Control team developing future deep strike / anti-ship capability. This is a role which requires good systems engineering skills and an enthusiastic approach to work with scope to expand responsibilities as the programme progresses. This role pushes MBDAs Mission Planning function beyond its traditional areas of interest so provides an exciting opportunity to grow capabilities and develop valuable expertise.

The role covers

• Working within the team delivering the Maritime Anti-Ship / Deep Strike Mission Planning (Maritime MP) product and engaging with the wider Mission Planning team
• Supporting the Maritime MP product owner to create the Maritime variant
• Working across the whole systems engineering lifecycle from requirements elicitation through to testing and delivery
• Generating and contributing to key engineering artefacts and design reviews
• Developing design within the systems architecture model
• Working with software and algorithm functional teams within the programme
• Opportunity to engage with end users and customers
• This role provides the opportunity to contribute to a key strategic defence project, as well as being able to get hands on as the product progresses.
