Job summary

Carnival UK is seeking a Superintendent, Safety and Compliance to strengthen maritime safety, compliance and incident governance across our ship operations. You will lead vessel-facing oversight, support audits, investigations and continuous safety improvements, partnering with ship management and onboard teams.

The role requires a Certificate of Competency or equivalent safety qualifications, experience with ISM and occupational safety, and a collaborative, detail‑driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Competency or equivalent safety qualification.
• Experience implementing safety and compliance requirements (ISM, occupational safety) in maritime operations.
• Experience supporting audits, investigations, inspections and routine assurance activity.
• Proven capability in incident reporting, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide vessel-facing ISM, GHESS and safety oversight for assigned ships.
• Own SeaEvent and vessel incident governance, ensuring reporting quality and timely close-out of actions.
• Lead or support vessel-level investigations, reviewing root causes and corrective actions.
• Coordinate ship support visits, audit follow-ups and compliance actions with onboard teams.
