Job summary

Peel Ports Group is seeking an experienced Marine Compliance Manager to support Medway marine operations, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and promoting a strong safety culture across the business.

You will lead compliance, assurance and governance activities, maintain the Marine Safety Management System, oversee audits and incident management, and drive continuous improvement with operational teams to achieve high standards of safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in marine compliance, safety management, auditing, assurance, or risk management.
• Strong understanding of the Port Marine Safety Code and harbour authority responsibilities.
• Ability to analyse information, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead marine compliance, assurance and governance across Medway operations.
• Ensure adherence to harbour duties, pilotage obligations, marine safety legislation and the Port Marine Safety Code.
• Maintain and improve the Marine Safety Management System.
• Oversee audits and compliance programmes, risk assessment and incident management.
• Provide practical compliance guidance and drive continuous improvement with operational teams.
• Promote safety culture, accountability and operational excellence.
