Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking a fixed-term Research Fellow to provide research and technical capacity for scoping, proof-of-concept and validation activities focused on Engineering Net Zero, AI, digitalisation and data. The successful candidate will work with Professor Zaili Yang, MaLaMi investigators and external partners to deliver rapid assessments and recommendations.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent professional experience in transport, logistics, engineering, operations research, data science or a related field.
• Strong quantitative research and data-analysis skills.
• Experience delivering research or innovation projects and communicating findings.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with MaLaMi investigators, the Project Manager and external partners to define technical requirements.
• Plan and deliver scoping, feasibility, proof-of-concept and validation activities.
• Apply quantitative and data-driven methods including AI/ML, modelling and optimisation.
• Contribute to prototype or demonstrator development and evaluation.
• Prepare technical reports, datasets and publications and support knowledge exchange.
