Job summary

Matchtech in Surrey is seeking a Maritime Intelligence Analyst for a permanent hybrid role. You will turn complex maritime data into clear, actionable insights for government, security and commercial stakeholders.

You'll monitor AIS and sensor feeds, produce alerts and threat assessments, and develop dashboards and workflows. Collaboration with product, ML, engineering and customers is expected to improve tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in maritime-focused field or equivalent maritime intelligence experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and reproducible workflows.
• Strong judgement, curiosity and evidence-based decision making.
• Experience with AIS, OSINT, geospatial data or sensor-derived intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor maritime activity using AIS, sensor feeds and OSINT.
• Identify and assess unusual or high-risk vessel behaviours.
• Produce alerts, summaries and threat assessments for stakeholders.
• Create dashboards and analytical outputs to operationalise maritime data.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and customer teams to improve tools.
• Maintain watchlists and reporting standards for repeatable workflows.
