Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc is seeking a Data Scientist for Sovereign Territory Surveillance, based from the Bristol office with a Hybrid working policy. You will join a data-driven team to research, prototype, and deliver ML solutions for maritime security problems, including time-series and image/video data streams.

You will develop, evaluate, and optimise models for behavior classification, anomaly detection, and track patterns in geospatial data, collaborating with developers to integrate outputs

Qualifications

• Experience with maritime or remote-sensing imagery.
• Ability to fine-tune, extend, and evaluate video or radar-based detection and tracking models.
• Develop, evaluate and deploy ML models for behaviour classification, anomaly detection, and track pattern recognition.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate outputs into user-facing features.
• Build scalable pipelines for ingesting, processing, annotating maritime data (AIS/video).
• Document model performance, testing procedures and experiment outcomes, with versioning.

Responsibilities

• Solve maritime and security-based problems such as detection and classification for time series and image/video data streams.
• Develop and evaluate ML models for behaviour classification, anomaly detection, and track pattern recognition within geospatial data.
• Research, prototype, extend, and optimise vision and time-series models.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate model outputs into user-facing features.
• Build scalable pipelines for ingesting, processing, annotating, and managing large volumes of maritime data (AIS/video).
• Contribute to alert generation and visualisation features.
• Document model performance and experiment outcomes with datasets and model versions.
