Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is building its UK maritime engineering capability and seeks a Head of Maritime Engineering to lead and scale the function. This hands-on leadership role covers technical delivery, integration, and readiness of maritime platforms, coordinating vessel systems, autonomy, communications and mission systems.

You will build a high-performing team, establish standards, manage risk and certification, and translate customer requirements into executable engineering plans

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional credentials required.
• Experience with vessel integration, certification and assurance processes.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams in shipyards, dockyards, or similar facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the UK maritime engineering capability with a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
• Own engineering delivery, technical integrity, and operational readiness of maritime platforms.
• Oversee integration of vessel, mechanical, electrical, autonomy, communications and mission systems.
• Establish standards across design, integration, test, configuration, maintenance, risk, certification and assurance.
• Translate programme and customer requirements into clear engineering priorities and executable plans.
• Collaborate with programme, product, suppliers and customers to solve complex engineering challenges at pace.
• Shape long-term maritime engineering strategy as programmes grow.
