Job summary

Kpler's Maritime Data team is seeking a Data Operations Manager to lead a data professionals team and drive the technical capabilities, processes, and operational excellence behind our maritime datasets. You will build scalable data workflows, introduce automation, and ensure high-quality, trusted data delivery.

Collaborate across Data, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to optimize data collection, validation, and delivery. Internally, this role is Vessel Data Manager.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct people management experience.
• Advanced hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience designing, optimising, and maintaining ETL processes and data workflows.
• Experience with APIs and data ingestion.
• Strong understanding of data quality and automated validation.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Looker.
• Ability to translate operational challenges into practical data solutions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data professionals, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Establish and improve scalable data management and operational processes.
• Provide technical leadership across data workflows including SQL, Python, ETL, APIs, and validation.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and Commercial teams to improve data delivery to customers.
• Define and monitor KPIs and OKRs to support strategic decisions.
