Job summary

Certain Advantage is partnering with a key client in the South West, UK, to recruit a Stress Engineer. You will deliver structural and stress analysis packages for marine mechanical and hybrid structures. A virtual interview process is available, with a Mon-Fri work pattern.

You will assess integrity under environmental loads, develop analyses, and provide safety-focused recommendations, while maintaining thorough documentation and collaborating with clients and teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural or stress analysis in maritime/defence/regulated sectors.
• Proficient in hand calculations and analytical methods.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
• Strong communication of technical results to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assess structural integrity by accounting for environmental loads, material degradation, and ageing mechanisms.
• Develop hand calculations, analytical models, and supporting technical evidence.
• Lead end-to-end analysis packages, from initial scoping through to final delivery and presentation.
• Provide practical, safety-focused recommendations, including design modifications where required.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation, including drawings and analysis records.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and communicate findings effectively.
