Job summary

Quest Global in the United Kingdom is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to deliver end-to-end structural and stress analysis for marine mechanical and hybrid structures. You will assess new and ageing assets, evaluate load paths and degradation, and provide robust evidence to support engineering decisions.

You will scope, plan and execute analysis with minimal oversight, balancing technical rigour with practical delivery timescales, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in structural or stress analysis within maritime, Defence, industrial or other regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical structures, load paths and material behaviour.
  • Ability to assess ageing/degraded structures and apply engineering judgement with incomplete data.
  • Experience with structural hand calculations, analysis and FEA tools.
  • Clear communicator with confidence presenting to customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in marine, Defence or other safety‑critical environments.
  • Understanding of marine degradation mechanisms such as corrosion, fatigue and long‑term material behaviour.
  • Familiarity with hybrid structures combining mechanical and civil‑type materials.
  • Knowledge of mechanical handling equipment or dockyard systems.
  • Ability to balance analytical rigour with practical, timely delivery.

Job Description


The Structural Analysis Engineer will deliver end‑to‑end structural and stress analysis packages for a wide range of marine mechanical and hybrid structures. You will assess new and ageing assets, evaluating load paths, through‑life degradation and other integrity challenges common in dockyard environments.



You’ll scope, plan and execute analysis work with minimal oversight, producing robust hand calculations, analytical models, and clear evidence to support engineering decisions. A key part of the role is balancing technical rigour with practical delivery timescales while ensuring all recommendations meet safety, environmental and regulatory requirements. This is a customer‑facing role that requires confidence working directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements, present findings and build trusted engineering relationships.
