Job summary

Babcock invites applications for the Marine Structures Undergraduate Summer Internship in Bristol. Over 12 weeks you will join the Submarine Support Engineering Structures Group, contributing to submarine fleet maintenance and future innovations.

You will analyse structural integrity, assess explosive shock survivability, and help shape in‑service modifications, working with engineers to apply your academic knowledge and develop practical skills in a defence environment.

Qualifications

• Must be in final year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Join the SSE Structures Group for 12 weeks to support submarine fleet maintenance and future innovations.
• Analyse submarine structural strength and assess platform structures for explosive shock survivability.
• Contribute to in‑service modification design and work with experienced engineers to apply academic knowledge.
