Job summary

Babcock International Group invites applications for the Marine Structures Undergraduate Summer Internship at the Bristol Technology Centre. Over 12 weeks you will join the SSE Structures Group, working on submarine strength analyses and structural design improvements that support the UK submarine fleet.

You will collaborate with engineers, tackle challenging problems, and gain hands-on experience across real projects that affect national security and maritime defence.

Qualifications

• Final year of degree in listed engineering fields.
• Must be able to obtain BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearance.
• Post-holder must be a sole UK national per security legislation.

Responsibilities

• Assist SSE Structures Group on submarine strength analysis.
• Evaluate platform structures for explosive shock survivability.
• Contribute to design of in-service modifications and future innovations.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and apply academic knowledge to solve real problems.
