Job summary

Shoreham Port is seeking a Marine Operations Assistant to join a dynamic team in a busy harbour environment. You will support operations aboard port craft, perform patrols, and carry out safety equipment checks, contributing to safe and efficient marine activities.

The role requires relevant qualifications, a strong team ethic, clear communication, and a proactive attitude toward learning marine regulations and procedures. A UK driving licence and Power Boat Level 2 are essential.

Qualifications

• Power Boat Level 2 Qualifications and a full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work with marine colleagues.
• Polite, clear communication and customer service skills.
• Interest in marine legislation changes and a willingness to learn.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting aboard all Port craft when required.
• Carrying out routine patrols within the harbour.
• Performing regular checks on equipment around the Port (life buoys, fire extinguishers, tide boards, hydrant pits and watering equipment).
• Taking notice of and assisting with maintenance duties around the Port as directed.
