Job summary

Expleo Group seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support design, development, integration and assurance of complex ships lifting and handling systems across commercial and defence maritime programmes.

The role involves delivering engineering solutions across the full lifecycle in multidisciplinary teams, with occasional travel to Portsmouth/Southampton and a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM discipline with naval/marine sector experience is expected.
• Experience in mechanical design for complex marine systems is required.
• Ability to define requirements and produce verifiable design outputs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system requirements, specifications and functional descriptions.
• Define operating modes and performance requirements for mechanical systems.
• Manage interfaces between mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control disciplines.
• Review designs for compliance with safety and operational needs.
• Produce engineering calculations and supporting design justification.
• Create high-quality 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
