Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. invites applications for a 12‑month Industrial Placement in Manufacturing Engineering at Wimborne, Dorset. You will join Caterpillar Marine and work on production of marine engines and gensets, with a focus on on‑time output and process improvement.

Penultimate year students (or integrated master’s) are eligible, and the scheme includes mentorship, a share plan, pension and 25 days leave. A strong problem‑solving mindset and collaboration are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of study or enrolled in an integrated master’s program to be eligible for the 12‑month placement.

Responsibilities

• Support the production of marine engines, generators and associated equipment.
• Participate in projects for new product introduction (NPI).
• Resolve production related problems and optimize routings.
• Learn and apply Caterpillar Production System (CPS).
• Collaborate with shop floor operators and designers during assembly.
