Job summary

BP plc seeks an experienced Electrical SME for marine electrical power generation, distribution and automation across bp-operated vessels. You will provide technical leadership, assurance and governance to ensure safe, compliant and high-performing operations at sea.

You will work with shipboard teams, equipment manufacturers and partners to improve reliability, security and performance of complex electrical infrastructure while supporting digitalisation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with marine electrical systems on ships, offshore, or related vessels.
• Knowledge of vessel automation, integrated control systems and power management.
• Experience in safety-critical regulatory environments and maritime operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for marine electrical and automation systems.
• Support vessel teams in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues.
• Lead investigations into electrical failures and drive reliability improvements.
• Oversee projects and manage specialist contractors for engineering programs.
