Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Marine Controls

Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting for a permanent Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading UK marine manufacturer. You will own electrical design output from concept through to production support within an in-house design team.

We seek an experienced electrical design engineer from marine, automotive, motorsport or other complex engineered products who can deliver high-quality drawings and schedules and collaborate across production, engineering and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electrical design engineering (AC/DC) within a relevant environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD schematics and panel drawings.
• Experience in marine or similar complex engineered products.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to collaborate with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain electrical design standards across the product range.
• Produce, check, update and issue 2D electrical schematics and panel drawings (AutoCAD).
• Create accurate cable/harness routing schedules.
• Lead design change requests / engineering change processes for electrical design.
• Deliver design packs to agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure designs are buildable.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, value engineering and R&D activity.
