Job Summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust are committed to safeguarding and protecting adults and children from abuse. The safeguarding team supports front‑line staff, ensuring risks are identified and appropriate services referred, enabling collaboration at the earliest opportunity.

The post‑holder will provide Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and Domestic Abuse support, representing KMMH and sharing mental health views from our practitioners to develop multi‑agency action plans that reflect mental health and care needs.

Key responsibilities include preventing abuse, protecting adults and children at risk through data analysis, research collection, and participation in MARAC.

Understanding the impact of domestic abuse on children and supporting practitioners to respond safely are essential.

Main duties of the job
  • Participate in Kent and Medway MARAC case management system – representing KMMH professionally and competently.
  • Complete research and share outcomes with relevant KMMH professionals, documenting outcomes on RiO records.
  • Collate and monitor MARAC statistics, and participate in audit activity across the Trust to evidence action plan compliance.
  • Maintain IT skills, including Excel databases and Word packages, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and information sharing.
  • Deliver learning events, training and establish safeguarding needs, encouraging the view that safeguarding is everyone's business.
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business purposes (unless a disability is defined by the Equality Act 2010).
  • Provide feedback on training delivery and support continuous improvement of training packages.
  • Record and audit activity, maintain contemporaneous records.
  • Provide flexible cover, travel when required, use video conferencing and work in isolation/lone working environments.
