Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader to join a near Stevenage manufacturing site. You will lead a busy team, drive Lean initiatives, and implement continuous improvements across production and assembly operations.

The role requires strong people management, coaching and leadership skills, with a hands-on approach on the shop floor. You will collaborate with engineering, quality and safety teams to meet targets and foster a high-performing culture.

Qualifications

• Experience as Manufacturing Team Leader or similar leadership role.
• Proven people management experience in manufacturing.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a manufacturing team.
• Create a positive and high-performing team environment.
• Coach and mentor employees.
• Manage day-to-day manufacturing activities to hit targets.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
• Conduct RCA and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and quality.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.
• Support assembly, machining and welding operations.
• Monitor KPIs and maintain Health & Safety standards.
• Support operational excellence and manufacturing improvement activities.
