Job description

Manufacturing Team Leader

Taskmaster are currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing Team Leader to join the expanding team of our client based within Upwood.

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 14:00 – 22:00

Salary: First month £15.24 per hour, second and third month £15.79, once perm £16.30 per hour.

JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY

  1. Responsible for the operation of a section.
  2. Supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the section, responsible for a group of operators and ensuring an efficient operation in achieving business targets.
  3. Provide line management to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring production targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer.
  4. Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.
  5. The ideal candidate must be driven and want progress within my clients company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in running an efficient operation which is able to fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
  2. Train new operatives within area of responsibility.
  3. Ensure inventories in area of responsibility are accurate.
  4. Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately.
  5. Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals.
  6. Ensure that any computerised or automated systems are accurate and up to date.
  7. Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change.
  8. Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse.
  9. Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required.
  10. Assist in planning future capacity requirements.
  11. Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards.
  12. Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  13. Ensure that vehicles, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
  14. Maintain high standards of security in the warehouse.
  15. Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
  16. The Team Leader will also be expected to act up for management to cover leave and absence.

EXPERIENCE

  1. Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop and supervise others.
  2. Must have a valid Counterbalance FLT Licence.
  3. Preferably worked in a manufacturing yard type environment.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Good IT skills.
  6. Analytical and numerical.
  7. Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality.
  8. Good planning skills and able to meet targets and deadlines.
  9. Excellent attention to detail skills.
