Our Birmingham-based client is recruiting for an experienced and dynamic individual to join them in a pivotal role responsible for the operation of a section within the Manufacturing function. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of their manufacturing area, overseeing a group of members and ensuring efficient operations in achieving business targets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Work to ensure people and resources are applied efficiently to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
2. Ensure team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements.
3. Ensure equipment is within calibration date and all systems are functioning correctly.
4. Complete all records appropriately.
5. Identify and segregate non-conforming material.
6. Follow escalation procedures for quality concerns.
7. Achieve production throughput against capacity targets.
8. Ensure the team is aware of daily targets and responsibilities.
9. Manage work order closures and stock control transactions.
10. Maintain visibility for adherence to procedures and instructions.
11. Monitor changeover and line setup efficiency.
12. Prepare line setups for following shifts.
13. Maintain safety equipment and tools.
14. Undertake continuous training and development.
15. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Experience leading small groups to drive improvement ideas.
2. Experience in developing multi-skilled personnel.
3. Minimum of 5 years' experience within a CNC environment.
4. Strong PC skills, including Excel.
5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and QC tools.
6. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including ISO14001.
7. Understanding of production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework.
