Job summary

Terex Cookstown is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join the Production Control Team in Cookstown. The role focuses on developing and improving production control systems, processes and procedures to maximise safety, quality and delivery while minimising manufacturing costs.

You will work with Production, Engineering and Quality to resolve issues, support ERP/MRP performance, and drive continuous improvement through Lean methods.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related discipline OR Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths (Grade C or above)
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, SIGMANEST or similar)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve production control systems.
• Ensure accuracy of BOMs, routings, and inventory data.
• Support ERP/MRP system performance and troubleshooting.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean principles (Kanban, 5S).
• Analyse production data to identify improvements.
• Support material flow and PFEP activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate engineering changes into production.
• Provide day-to-day support to production teams.
• Develop and maintain standard processes and procedures.
• Monthly inventory control support.

Hours of work: 39hrs per week

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Production Control Lead, the Manufacturing System Engineer will will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing Production Control systems, processes and procedures to maximize safety, quality and delivery, and to minimise the cost of manufacturing.

Duties include

• Manufacturing Systems & Data Maintain and improve production control systems
• Ensure accuracy of BOMs, routings, and inventory data
• Support ERP/MRP system performance and troubleshooting
• Process Improvement Drive continuous improvement using Lean principles (Kanban, 5S)
• Analyse production data to identify improvements
• Support material flow and PFEP activities

• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Coordinate engineering changes into production
• Operational Support Provide day-to-day support to production teams
• Develop and maintain standard processes and procedures
• Monthly inventory control support

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related discipline OR Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, SIGMANEST or similar)

• Strong IT experience, including using Excel for tracking and reporting
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and data systems
• Clear communicator with good stakeholder engagement skills
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
• Proactive, adaptable, and results-focused
