Roundhouse Recruitment Ltd in Staffordshire is seeking a Production Supervisor with a hands-on background in fabrication, sheet metal, or mechanical manufacturing. This newly created role offers a 4-day working week (Mon-Thu) with Fridays off and a clear path toward Production Management.

You will own shop-floor engineering issues, design and modify jigs and tooling, produce CAD drawings, and work with operators to drive improvements in manufacturability, efficiency and quality across CNC laser

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering background in fabrication, sheet metal or similar mechanical manufacturing.
• Ability to produce and interpret CAD drawings and manufacturing plans.
• Experience with laser cutting, punching, weld fabrication or machining is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Engineer practical shop-floor solutions from concept to implementation.
• Design, develop and modify jigs, fixtures, tooling and manufacturing aids.
• Produce and modify CAD models and engineering/manufacturing drawings.
• Work with operators to understand manufacturing problems and deliver practical solutions.
• Improve manufacturability, repeatability, quality and efficiency of components and processes.
• Support trials and implementation of new tooling and production methods.
• Investigate recurring issues and implement permanent engineering solutions.
• Assist with machinery maintenance and external engineering support.

Production Supervisor

£35,000 - £45,000 + 4 Day Working Week (Every Friday Off) + Progression to Production Management + Benefits + Pension

Hixon, Staffordshire

Are you a Manufacturing or Production Engineer from a Fabrication, sheet metal or similar Mechanical Manufacturing background, looking for a hands-on engineering role with a 4-day working week and progression towards Production Management?

This is a newly created position where you'll take ownership of practical engineering problems across the shop floor. You'll design and modify jigs, fixtures, tooling and manufacturing aids, produce engineering drawings and work directly with production to turn engineering problems into practical, workable solutions.

The company is an established UK subcontract manufacturer operating across CNC laser cutting and punching, press brake forming, welding and fabrication, machining, finishing and assembly. You'll join a high-mix manufacturing environment where you'll have the autonomy to implement engineering improvements and directly influence how products are manufactured.

The Role:

• Engineer practical solutions to manufacturing and shop-floor problems from concept through to implementation
• Design, develop and modify jigs, fixtures, tooling and manufacturing aids
• Produce and modify CAD models and engineering/manufacturing drawings
• Work directly with operators to understand manufacturing problems and develop practical solutions
• Improve the manufacturability, repeatability, quality and efficiency of components and production processes
• Support trials and implementation of new tooling, fixtures and production methods
• Investigate recurring manufacturing issues and implement permanent engineering solutions
• Support machinery and equipment improvements and practical engineering projects
• Assist with machinery maintenance, servicing and external engineering support where required

The Person:

• Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Tooling Engineer, Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer or similar
• Hands-on background within sheet metal, fabrication, machining or another mechanical manufacturing environment
• Experience designing or modifying jigs, fixtures, tooling or manufacturing equipment
• Able to produce and interpret engineering/manufacturing drawings using CAD
• Strong understanding of practical manufacturing methods
• Comfortable working directly with production operators and taking engineering problems through to implementation
• Experience with laser cutting, CNC punching, press brakes, welding/fabrication or machining would be highly advantageous
