Job summary

Extension Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing organisation for a Quality Manager in Consett, County Durham. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, strengthening process control and embedding a "right first time" culture across the site.

You will work cross-functionally with operations, engineering and supply chain to reduce variation, eliminate waste and improve production capability, while leading audits and maintaining the QMS.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quality Manager or in a senior quality role within manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving skills (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, root cause analysis).
• Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA and control plans.
• Experience with audits, QMS and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement activities using data-driven methodologies
• Manage non-conformance, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance
• Collaborate across functions to improve process capability and quality performance
• Drive standardisation, KPIs and quality best practice across the site
