Job summary

Progressive, a Global Engineering and Manufacturing organisation in Wolverhampton, seeks an experienced Manufacturing Project Engineer to drive projects from fabrication through delivery on time. This site-based role sits at the heart of project delivery, coordinating multiple stakeholders

You'll lead documentation, testing plans, and progress updates with Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams, ensuring programme and customer requirements are met in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering at minimum.
• Must be able to gain security clearance.
• Experience as Manufacturing Project Engineer or similar.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Strong project coordination and planning skills.
• Experience coordinating documentation, schedules and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering projects through manufacturing.
• Manage project schedules, programme updates and documentation.
• Coordinate testing, inspection and customer deliverables.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Project Engineer to join a Global Engineering and Manufacturing organisation in Wolverhampton.

Due to continued growth, project wins and a strong order book, the business is looking to strengthen its Project Engineering team with the addition of a Manufacturing Project Engineer.

Despite the title, this is very much a Project Engineer role within a manufacturing environment, rather than a traditional Manufacturing Engineer position focused on process improvement, manufacturing methods or continuous improvement activities.

This Manufacturing Project Engineer role sits at the heart of project delivery, acting as the link between Project Management and Manufacturing Operations. You'll be responsible for coordinating projects through fabrication, machining, assembly, testing and final delivery, ensuring programme, quality and customer requirements are achieved.

You'll bring together manufacturing activities, project documentation, route cards, test plans, quality requirements and programme updates, ensuring projects continue moving through the factory and are delivered on time.

This is a highly visible, fast-pace role and would suit a proactive individual who enjoys driving projects forward, coordinating multiple stakeholders and being close to manufacturing operations.

The Manufacturing Project Engineer Role

• Coordinating engineering projects through manufacturing.
• Managing project schedules, programme updates and documentation.
• Coordinating testing, inspection and customer deliverables.
• Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams.

You'll spend significant time working alongside operational teams to ensure projects move efficiently through manufacture and are delivered on time.

What we're looking for

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering as a Minimum
• Must be able to gain security clearance
• Experience as a Manufacturing Project Engineer, Project Engineer or similar.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong project coordination and planning skills.
• Experience managing documentation, schedules, programme updates and project reporting.
• Ability to coordinate testing, inspection and manufacturing activities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Organised, resilient and delivery-focused.
• Comfortable working in a fast-pace manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining or assembly processes would be beneficial.
• Experience driving projects through manufacture would be highly advantageous.

Salary & Benefits on offer for Manufacturing Project Engineer Role

Offering a salary of up to £53,000, alongside 25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, a competitive benefits package and genuine long-term career opportunities within a growing global engineering and manufacturing business. Based in Wolverhampton and easily commutable from Birmingham, Walsall, Dudley, Cannock, Telford, Stafford, Kidderminster and the wider West Midlands.
