Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company at the Springfields site near Preston is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support business growth and diversification through technical bid development, process improvement and project delivery in a highly regulated nuclear environment.

You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to optimise manufacturing processes, develop capability, perform technical studies and deliver growth initiatives to enhance safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Nuclear or Process Engineering).
• Typically 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing, process, energy, nuclear or other regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Support process, production, manufacturing or project engineering activities within a regulated industry.
• Understand process engineering principles within manufacturing and nuclear environments.
• Gather, analyse, and interpret operational and process data to support decision-making.
• Perform process mapping, value stream mapping and manufacturing process documentation.
• Develop and maintain process maps, flow diagrams, material balances, and technical documentation.
• Apply mass and energy balance principles to manufacturing and production processes.
• Contribute to process optimisation, efficiency improvement, cost reduction and performance initiatives.
• Familiar with manufacturability assessments, process capability analysis and production readiness reviews.
• Follow systems engineering principles and engineering lifecycle processes.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, optioneering activities and technical design development.
• Prepare and review technical reports, engineering calculations and hazard assessments.
• Support project delivery activities and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, safety and project stakeholders.
• Dedication to safety, quality, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
• Experience in regulated sectors is desirable.
• Progress toward Chartered Engineer status is advantageous.
