Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, is recruiting Manufacturing Operatives for a hands-on role with full training and the potential to become permanent. The position operates on a rotating 3-shift pattern and offers on-site parking and a subsidised canteen.

You will manufacture and prepare precision components for aerospace and gas turbine applications, performing polishing, deburring, inspection and quality checks while following technical drawings and work instructions.

Qualifications

Shift Pattern

3 Shift: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

Location: Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, EX2
Contract: Temporary ongoing with opportunities to become permanent

The Role

As a Manufacturing Operative / Production Operative, you'll work as part of a production team manufacturing and preparing precision components for aerospace and gas turbine applications.

Duties include:

• Polishing, deburring, cleaning and fine finishing
• Using hand tools and manufacturing equipment
• Setting, loading and preparing components
• Inspecting components and carrying out quality checks
• Following technical drawings, specifications and work instructions
• Identifying defects and preparing components for the next production stage
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
• Working as part of a multi-skilled manufacturing team
