Job summary

Distinct Consultancy Group is recruiting a Management Accountant to join a growing manufacturing business. You will partner with operations, manage month-end, budgeting, forecasting and cost control, and provide insights for strategic decisions.

You will influence cost transparency, monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement across production and financial reporting. The role offers a clear career path and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or a comparable field.
• Professional experience in Controlling, Financial Analysis, Cost Accounting, or a comparable finance role, ideally within manufacturing.
• Sound knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Ideally AAT qualified and/or working towards chartered accountant status (Study support can be offered).
• Ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Proactive and collaborative with cross-functional teams across Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering.
• Good understanding of ERP systems and financial reporting tools; Oracle, HFM advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end closing activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze monthly plant performance reports, highlighting variances.
• Support budgeting and forecasting by validating and analyzing data.
• Monitor manufacturing costs and identify trends or deviations.
• Perform variance analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Track and report plant KPIs including productivity and cost performance.
• Support inventory management and stock movements for accuracy.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve cost transparency.
• Create ad-hoc analyses and business cases for operational improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting.
