Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a UK-based manufacturing operation. You will own preventive maintenance, fault finding, repair and improvements across CNC milling machines, EDM equipment, vacuum coating plants and other machinery, ensuring reliability and safe operation.

This hands-on role involves collaborating with maintenance teams, production colleagues and contractors, developing a proactive TPM culture and driving equipment performance

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Engineering or related technical training.
• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Engineering or maintenance preferred.
• Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing and facilities equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, CNC milling machines, EDM equipment, vacuum coating plants, lapping machines, pumps, control systems and associated infrastructure.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support TPM initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and manufacturer instructions.
• Carry out mechanical fabrication, electrical installation, machine assembly and basic electronic work.
• Use power tools safely and effectively; complete scheduled maintenance on time.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams, production, contractors and suppliers.
• Carry out risk assessments and follow safe systems of work.
