Job summary

DCV Technologies in Coventry is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our aerospace manufacturing operations. You will work on CNC machinery, plant and production equipment, performing diagnostic, preventive and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime and safety.

The role requires a City & Guilds or equivalent qualification, plus hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance. Knowledge of Mazak CNC machines is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining CNC machinery, machine tools or production equipment in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing or similar engineering environments.
• City & Guilds qualification or equivalent technical qualification is required.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and PPM is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical repairs on CNC machines, plant and equipment.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and repairs during shutdowns.
• Use diagnostic techniques to identify issues and restore machinery to full operation.
• Support production teams with maintenance procedures and training.
• Assist with installation, refurbishment and continual improvement of assets.
• Maintain high health, safety and equipment maintenance standards.

Maintenance Technician

Coventry | £43,842.90 - £45,333.04 + afternoon shift allowance + excellent benefits

Permanent | 5-week rotating shift pattern

We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading global aerospace manufacturing business in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with experience in CNC machines, machine tools, production equipment or manufacturing plant to develop their career within a high-quality engineering environment.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will support the reliability, performance and safety of CNC machinery, plant and production equipment. You will carry out corrective maintenance, breakdown repairs, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), diagnostics, installation and refurbishment activities, helping to maximise equipment availability and minimise production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical repairs on CNC machines, plant and manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance during scheduled shutdowns.
• Use diagnostic and predictive maintenance techniques to identify equipment issues and restore machinery to full operational condition.
• Support production teams with first-line maintenance procedures and appropriate training.
• Assist with the installation, refurbishment and continual improvement of plant and production assets.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and equipment maintenance at all times.

What We're Looking For

You will have a maintenance background within aerospace, automotive, manufacturing or a similar engineering environment, with practical experience maintaining CNC machinery, machine tools or production equipment.

A City & Guilds qualification, equivalent technical qualification or relevant engineering apprenticeship is required.

Experience of both mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, breakdown repair and PPM would be highly relevant. Working knowledge of CNC machine repairs, machine-tool control systems and manufacturers is desirable. Experience with Mazak CNC machines would be particularly advantageous.

This role operates on a 5-week rotating shift pattern covering morning, afternoon and day shifts.
