Job summary

Proactive Technical Limited is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our engineering and production team on a standard day shift. You will perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of manufacturing equipment, keeping machinery safe, reliable and productive while supporting continuous improvements on site.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing/engineering.
Experience with manual or CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders).
Hands-on approach with fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Apprenticeship or NVQ/City & Guilds in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on machinery.
Maintain and repair equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, furnaces and wire-making lines.
Support assembly and installation of bespoke welding machines.
Help manage the site maintenance schedule to minimise downtime.
Identify opportunities to improve machinery and production processes.
Diagnose faults and perform repairs promptly.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure safety and reliability.
Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
