Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer for its Grimsby seafood site. You will maintain factory plant and equipment, respond to breakdowns and drive continuous improvement to minimise downtime on a fast-paced production line.

Ideal candidates have an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, strong electrical/mechanical skills and a solid understanding of health and safety, with experience in manufacturing environments and TPM/lean practices.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge across disciplines.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing or TPM.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced setting.
• Good communication and teamwork across the business.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
• Maintain factory plant and equipment to maximise reliability and performance.
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure all activities comply with site procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering.
• Support TPM activities and lean manufacturing efforts.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and engineering standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and safety.
