Role Overview
Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of production lines in a factory environment. Your role combines machine operation, technical troubleshooting, and process improvement to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, operate, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Carry out machine changeovers and tooling adjustments.
- Drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and production performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Operate machinery that processes, converts, and makes materials.
- Run automated or semi-automated machines.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality.
- Monitor performance to ensure smooth operation.
- Diagnose and fix minor mechanical or technical faults.
- Report more complex issues to the engineering team.
- Manage line changeovers and setups.
- Switch production lines for different products.
- Adjust tooling and settings to match specifications.
- Ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment (e.g., manufacturing, automotive, chemicals).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with machines and equipment.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in engineering/mechanics is a plus.
- Mechanically minded with a passion for hands-on work.
- Good communication skills to work with operators, engineers, and supervisors.
