Role Overview

Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of production lines in a factory environment. Your role combines machine operation, technical troubleshooting, and process improvement to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain, operate, and improve manufacturing processes.
2. Carry out machine changeovers and tooling adjustments.
3. Drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and production performance.
4. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
5. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Operate machinery that processes, converts, and makes materials.
7. Run automated or semi-automated machines.
8. Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality.
9. Monitor performance to ensure smooth operation.
10. Diagnose and fix minor mechanical or technical faults.
11. Report more complex issues to the engineering team.
12. Manage line changeovers and setups.
13. Switch production lines for different products.
14. Adjust tooling and settings to match specifications.
15. Ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Requirements & Skills

• Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment (e.g., manufacturing, automotive, chemicals).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with machines and equipment.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in engineering/mechanics is a plus.
• Mechanically minded with a passion for hands-on work.
• Good communication skills to work with operators, engineers, and supervisors.
