Job summary

JDR Recruitment is hiring a Manufacturing Labourer for a busy Swansea area site offering a Monday to Friday day pattern. The role involves hands-on, varied tasks in a workshop environment with GRP exposure and an emphasis on safe, practical work.

You will support parts of the manufacturing process, move materials around the shop, prepare components and assist with assembly. This is a long-term role with potential to become permanent and a straightforward path into a busy engineering team.

Manufacturing Labourer - Days

Swansea Area | £12.71 per hour | Monday to Friday | Temp to Permanent

JDR Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Labourer to join an established engineering and manufacturing company based in the Swansea area.

This is not your typical production-line position.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, keeping busy and getting stuck into a variety of different tasks throughout the working day.

The company manufactures large bespoke products for the industrial, construction and infrastructure sectors, so the role will involve supporting different areas of the manufacturing process within a busy workshop environment.

For the right person, this is a genuine long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.

Hours & Pay

Monday to Friday
7:30am - 4:30pm

£12.71 per hour

Full-time hours with a consistent daytime working pattern.

What will you be doing?

No two days will necessarily look exactly the same. You'll be supporting the manufacturing team with a variety of practical and physical duties, which may include:

• General labouring and assisting skilled members of the production team

• Preparing materials ready for manufacturing

• Moving materials, components and finished products around the workshop

• Assisting with the manufacture and assembly of large industrial products

• Using basic hand tools and workshop equipment

• Supporting with cutting, fitting, sanding, finishing and preparation work

• Cleaning and preparing components

• General workshop duties and housekeeping

• Loading, unloading and moving materials

• Helping different departments as workloads change

• Following instructions, measurements and safe working procedures

• Carrying out other general hands-on duties as required

This is a physical, practical role, so applicants need to be comfortable being on their feet and carrying out manual duties throughout the working day.

The company works extensively with GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic / fibreglass) products.

Because of the materials used during manufacturing, there can be a noticeable fibreglass/resin smell within the working environment.

We want applicants to be fully aware of this before applying. If you are particularly sensitive to strong manufacturing smells or do not feel you would be comfortable working around fibreglass/GRP products, this may not be the right environment for you.

Appropriate workplace health and safety procedures and PPE will be followed.

Who are we looking for?

Previous experience in manufacturing would be beneficial, but we're equally interested in people who come from a practical, hands-on background and have the right attitude.
